The beginnings
A figure recognized by his peers, Eric Jourdan (born in 1961) trained at the School of Fine Arts in Saint Etienne, and at the Ecole Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, where he later held a chair. The eclecticism of his talent allows him to create street furniture, participate in exhibitions in galleries, or design lines of furniture for Cinna / Roset.
In 2013, the year of his personal exhibition “Fauve” at the En Attendant les Barbares gallery, he received the ART PARIS Design Prize.
In 2015, he led a workshop at the leading Chinese school CAFA in Beijing.
In 2016, he taught at the Camondo school.
In 2020, he was appointed director of ESADSE (Saint-Étienne Higher School of Art and Design).In 2024, he is nominated as director of the prestigious Cité du Design.
Collections and exhibitions
His pieces are present in the collections of the Fond National d’Art Contemporain, Paris, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, (MAD) Paris, the Mobilier National and the Musée d’Art Moderne, Saint Etienne.
