Developing a very close relationship with artisans of art, he is as much at ease with the glassmakers as the ceramists, the bronziers and the ironworkers. A reference of typical French design, his style evokes a neo-classical spirit updated with elegance
In 1981, he started with Ettore Sottsass, as well as the Maeght gallery.
In 1985, he created pieces for the Galerie Néotu.
He was edited by En Attendant les Barbares, in particular for a collection of vases and cups taking up the traditional work called “filigram” Venetian, which he created in Murano, with their world renowned art glassmakers.
In 1993, he began to collaborate with Porcelaines Bernardaud, a brand with which he developed a long collaboration.
In 1994, he conceived the design and furnishings of the café Marly, at the Louvre in Paris.
In 1998, he was elected “creator of the year” at Maison & Objet.
In 1999, at the request of the National Furniture, he designed the furniture for the office of the Minister of Culture.
In 2002, he was appointed Officer of Arts and Letters.
In 2006, a personal exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Shanghai revealed his work in China.
In 2008, he designed the fittings and furnishings of Pierre Gagnaire’s restaurant in Seoul.
In 2014, a retrospective is devoted to him to the Picasso Museum and the Ceramic of Vallauris and a major monograph published by Norma Editions is devoted to him.
